Prom Dress: How to Choose the Perfect One!



Black can be a strong and imposing color that is really a favorite with the fashion world. Black suggests night, boldness, magic, and mystery. Black is a color of myth and symbol, ordinarily a color worn by icons of history. Audrey Hepburn is remembered in 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' for her black gown; every fashion guru will preach the "little black dress". And of course, the original groom stands in the altar, awaiting bride in the classic black tuxedo.



Given that it turned out to be outside in late May in southern Indiana (translation -- potentially hot and humid), we opted to keep the ceremony at 6:00 p.m. by having an outdoor dinner reception to adhere to. I didn't know that to help try and keep everyone comfortable, I created a dilemma for most of the female guests -- "What do I wear?" Hopefully these suggestions can help.

Another popular colour was pink; this was considered very right for a May wedding. Pink flatters most complexions and it is from the bride's girlhood, just some superstitions stated it to be unlucky, as the quote state "Marry in pink as well as your fortunes will sink"! Mrs Joseph Nollekens was quite definitely considered fashionable in 1772 in their saque gown made out of brocaded white silk embellished with delicate crimson flowers. She also wore shoes made out of the similar material, which had heels of three and a half wedding dress inches (approx. 8cm). Deeper shades of red were unquestionably taboo by the Victorian era, using the mention of the scarlet along with hussies.

In addition, tea-length dresses are another 1950's inspired look well suited for petite brides thinking about less formal, fun afternoon weddings, while mini dresses are among the "hottest" trends this coming year, perfect for the somewhat "funky" bride who would like some other more free sort of dress to wear at the reception so she can dance the night away.

Tuxedos: Tuxedos are fantastic for men who are on the well made side. So if you possess a frail frame, remember to avoid them from tuxedos. Black tuxedos look the very best and they are teamed with satin clacks and striped pants. Wear this for ceremonies happening at night or late evenings and add zing in your big day!
